  • Ripe Tuocha: 100°C (212°F)
  •
  • Raw Tuocha: 95 - 100°C (203 - 212°F)

3

First Infusion (Rinse): Rinse the tea leaves with hot water for 5 - 10 seconds to wake up the tea and remove any surface dust. Discard this first infusion.

4

First Steeping:

  • Ripe Tuocha: Steep for 1 - 2 minutes
  •
  • Raw Tuocha: Steep for 30 seconds - 1 minute (shorter for younger raw Tuocha)
  •

5

Subsequent Infusions: Increase the steeping time by 15 - 30 seconds for each additional brew. Tuocha can typically be steeped 8 - 10 times or more, with the flavors evolving throughout the infusions.

Teaware: Aged purple clay teapots or large porcelain gaiwans are ideal, as they can enhance the tea's flavor and aroma, especially for aged Tuocha. For younger Tuocha, glassware can also be used to appreciate the liquor color.
